Growing up in the Midwest I was taught to always hold a door open for the person coming up behind me. It still just seems like the polite thing to to do.I created my "Sliding Sale" as a sort of digital version of this courtesy.
When anyone makes a purchase on my site, a 30% discount will be activated which anyone else came claim by clicking the "Sliding Sale" button when they join.
Current Members can use the SLIDINGSALE coupon code to get the discount on any renewal. The more people use the door, the more open it will be!
The discount will decline by 5% each hour thereafter until it hits 0.The clock restarts and the discount resets to 30% when someone makes a purchase however so the more people who sign up, the less expensive it will be for everyone. Members with more than 2 years remaining on their accounts will not see a message when the Sliding Sale is active, but everyone else will. I'm going to try and run my signups and renewals like this for a while though I may tweak the times from time to time. If no one is interested it won't really cost me anything, and if it's popular I will gain more members who, in turn, feel happier that they saved some money. Everyone wins!
Let me know what you think!
